About the position

The RN Nursery Level II at HonorHealth is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients in the nursery setting. This role involves administering medications, developing care plans, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The RN will also engage in patient education, support clinical knowledge advancement, and contribute to a healthy work environment. This position is part of a larger nonprofit healthcare system dedicated to improving community health and well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Establish and contribute to patient care plans.
  • Monitor and record patient observations and progress.
  • Educate patients and families on managing illnesses and post-treatment care.
  • Provide direction and support to nursing aides and practical nurses.
  • Precept new staff and students, assisting them in skill competency.
  • Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practices and care plans.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess and implement patient care.
  • Participate in evidence-based research to improve nursing practices.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) State and/or Compact State Licensure in Arizona.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Minimum of 10 months experience in a med-surg or acute specialty setting.
  • 1 year RN experience for float positions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a nursery or pediatric setting.
  • Knowledge of stroke care protocols and management.
