About the position
This position is for experienced Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurses (RNs) at Mercy South, focusing on providing patient care in the neurosurgery department. The role involves utilizing the nursing process to ensure effective patient care, maintaining professional accountability, and coordinating with other departments to uphold patient rights and confidentiality. Candidates without OR experience may be considered for a fellowship program starting in January 2025.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
- Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for assigned patients.
- Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.
- Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments.
- Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
Requirements
- Nursing Degree from an accredited school.
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure.
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association.
