About the position

SCA Health is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for the Operating Room at Owensboro Surgery Center. In this role, you will be an integral part of a dynamic healthcare team that is committed to delivering high-quality patient care. As a member of the surgical team, you will promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health while ensuring that patients receive the best possible care throughout their perioperative experience. Your responsibilities will include assessing patient status, developing individualized care plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The Operating Room RN will be responsible for monitoring patients before, during, and after surgery, ensuring their safety and comfort. You will utilize your nursing skills to provide direct patient care, administer medications, and assist with surgical procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of surgical protocols and the ability to respond quickly to any changes in a patient's condition. You will also be expected to maintain accurate patient records and communicate effectively with both patients and healthcare team members. Responsibilities

  • Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA.
  • Assess patient status throughout the perioperative episode of care.
  • Develop an individualized perioperative patient plan of care.
  • Serve as a member of a multidisciplinary team in planning perioperative patient care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • One year of OR and/or medical/surgical nursing experience preferred.
  • Current state nursing licensure to practice in good standing.
  • Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS certification.
  • Successful completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification.
  • Successful completion of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course is required when pediatric care is included in the facility scope of services within 90 days of employment or documentation of current PALS certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Specialty certification in Perioperative Nursing is preferred.
