About the position

The RN / Operations Training Specialist at CorrHealth is responsible for developing, reviewing, and implementing training materials across various facilities to enhance productivity and compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards. This role involves conducting training sessions, performing facility assessments, and participating in special projects, including filling in for shifts as needed. The position requires significant travel between New Mexico, Texas, Wyoming, and Colorado, primarily on weekdays, but may vary based on project requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develops clinical, technical, and workflow training materials as needed
  • Performs monthly visits to contracted facilities to assess training programs
  • Travels to contracted facilities to conduct training for operational and clinical staff members annually
  • Works with HSA to ensure compliance standards are met
  • Assists with CQI initiatives and develops required training to meet/exceed CQI standards
  • Completes mock audits and assists facilities in preparation for accreditation
  • Fills in for absent HSAs during vacations or unforeseen circumstances
  • Trains and coaches managers, supervisors, and others involved in employee development
  • Develops and maintains organizational communications regarding training and development events
  • Conducts follow-up studies of completed training to evaluate and measure results
  • Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization
  • Works effectively as a team member with management and HR staff
  • Participates in special projects as assigned

Requirements

  • Current RN compact licensure in good standing
  • 1-2 years of teaching/training/audit or educator experience
  • One year of specialized experience in an administrative, clerical management, or supervisory position in healthcare
  • Three years minimum correctional experience preferred
  • BSN or Master's in nursing strongly preferred
  • Current BLS certification
