RN- OR and PACU Nurse positions in Miami and South Florida

About the position

The Operating Room RN is responsible for providing nursing care directed toward surgical patients, managing their care during operative or invasive procedures. This role involves working in ambulatory surgical centers, ensuring patient safety, and collaborating with healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The position offers flexibility in scheduling and the opportunity to work in various surgical specialties.

Responsibilities

• Identify patient's needs, set goals with patients, and implement nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Ensure patient safety and assess physiological and behavioral responses throughout the surgical experience.
• Competently assess the physiological and psychosocial health status of the patient and family.
• Develop a plan of care that prescribes nursing actions to achieve patient goals.
• Create and maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures.
• Provide necessary equipment and supplies based on patient needs.
• Perform sponge, sharp, and instrument counts accurately.
• Administer drugs and solutions as prescribed by the physician.
• Monitor the patient during surgery and report conditions to appropriate personnel.
• Initiate emergency resuscitative measures according to protocols.
• Provide care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner, preserving patient autonomy and dignity.

Requirements

• Current RN License in good standing in the state of practice.
• BLS Certification is mandatory.
• Minimum of 2 years of perioperative circulating nursing experience.
• Professional certifications such as CNOR and CRNFA are preferred but not required.

Nice-to-haves

• Scrub experience is helpful but not necessary.
