About the position

The RN or LPN position is a full-time float role within a physician-led, patient-centric network. The role involves assisting physicians and staff with daily patient care coordination, ensuring efficient patient flow, and delivering direct patient care in accordance with established policies. The position requires commuting to various local offices and involves a range of responsibilities including patient assessment, documentation, and communication with healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the physician and staff with the daily coordination of patient care and physician access.
  • Function as the liaison between patients, staff, and physicians.
  • Maintain efficient patient flow and deliver direct patient care within the scope of licensure.
  • Collect and accurately label lab specimens according to departmental guidelines.
  • Prioritize patient care by implementing physician orders and nursing procedures.
  • Prepare pertinent information needed for patient visits and ensure proper patient identification.
  • Obtain and document vital signs accurately in the EHR.
  • Administer injections and document them accurately in the EHR.
  • Schedule appointments according to department guidelines and adhere to universal safety precautions.
  • Review and update medication lists in the EHR and document known allergies accurately.
  • Facilitate transition of care to UCC/Hospital and maintain logs for emergency equipment.

Requirements

  • Associates degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • New Jersey State Nursing License and BLS certification required.
  • 0 - 1 years experience; 2-4 years experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Standard Office Equipment (Phone, Fax, Copy Machine, Scanner, Email/Voice Mail) preferred.
  • Experience with Standard Office Technology in a Windows-based environment preferred.
  • Experience with patient care equipment preferred.
  • Experience with EHR, Practice Management System, and Departmental/Ancillary Systems preferred.
