About the position

Corewell Health is offering up to $10,000 as a sign on bonus for this opportunity! We are able to provide care for long term care residents and post-acute rehab patients. Nurse-patient ratios vary depending on the shift and the population you will be serving. Each designated unit focuses on patient specialties, such as general rehab, neuro rehab, traumatic brain injuries and cancer. Cedar Street offers various programs for residents to participate in including music therapy, expressive arts and a garden room. The Rehabilitation & Nursing Center - Cedar was designed with the word 'home' in mind. The home is more spacious than the previous 52-year-old Fuller Street facility and boasts many new amenities, including four spacious interior courtyards; a new dining room; on-site dialysis den; art room, private and semiprivate rooms with their own window, restroom and shower; modern furnishings; and new technology, to make these community members feel at home.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan.
  • Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA, including ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health.
  • Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Under the direction of the RN/Mid-level Provider/Physician, contributes to the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Informs patients and families about treatments and medications being received, equipment being utilized, and other related activities as appropriate, in coordination with the RN/Mid-level Provider/Physician.
  • Documents care provided via computer/written patient record in a manner consistent with guidelines.

Requirements

  • Associates in Nursing or Graduate from LPN Program Required for RN.
  • Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years for RN.
  • MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required.
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days for RN.
  • Associates in Nursing Required for LPN.
  • MI Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Required.
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days for LPN.
