About the position
The Registered Nurse (RN) position in the Operating Room at Northwest Health - La Porte Hospital is a full-time role focused on providing surgical care to patients. The RN will be part of a patient-centered team, delivering care before, during, and after surgical procedures across various specialties. The role requires flexibility in scheduling, including weekend and holiday rotations, and participation in on-call duties.
Responsibilities
- Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care to patients in the operating room.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures.
- Utilize technology and treatments for surgical care in various specialties.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to changes in their condition during surgery.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room and surgical instruments.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) required; BSN preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Indiana.
- BLS certification must be maintained while in this position.
- ACLS certification within 12 months of hire, must be maintained while in this position.
- 1 year of hospital experience preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous surgical services experience preferred.
- Intermediate care level hospital experience.
