About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) position at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission involves coordinating care for patients within the orthopedic unit. The RN will provide direct patient care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and utilize the nursing process to enhance patient outcomes. This role emphasizes professional growth, leadership, and adherence to regulatory standards while delivering whole-person care.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the efforts of the multidisciplinary care team for patients.
• Provide direct patient care and collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Utilize the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) to maintain and improve patient outcomes.
• Demonstrate leadership and management skills in patient care.
• Advocate for patients and serve as a role model for the mission and values of Shawnee Mission Health.
• Participate in bedside shift report, safety huddles, and multidisciplinary patient rounds.

Requirements

• Kansas Registered Nurse License
• BCLS obtained through the American Heart Association
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or obtained within 4 years of employment
