About the position

The position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Orthopedics team at Mercy South, focusing on providing care for various orthopedic specialty patients. This role is ideal for both new graduates and experienced nurses, offering a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where critical thinking skills are essential. The RN will work 12-hour night shifts and will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in an inpatient setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to orthopedic patients including those undergoing elective surgeries such as knee and hip replacements.
• Utilize critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain a current RN license and meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Participate in ongoing education and training programs.

Requirements

• Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Must obtain and maintain a current RN license within the hiring state or compact licensure.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in orthopedic nursing or related specialties.
• Familiarity with inpatient care settings.
