About The Position

The RN Outpatient Surgery position involves providing specialized nursing care that requires advanced knowledge and skills. The role focuses on utilizing high-level assessment skills to design and implement multidisciplinary patient care, ensuring adherence to established practice guidelines and regulatory standards. The RN will supervise LPNs, CNAs, Techs, Unit Secretaries, and Clinical students, while also maintaining safety responsibilities and initiatives. Critical thinking, effective communication, and team leadership are essential components of this role.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• Current RN license in the state of Kentucky or Kentucky work permit.
• Certifications based on the unit worked: BLS, ACLS, PALS, BCA, LTA, 12 Lead EKG, NRP, CPI, TNCC, ENPC, A, WHONN, Fetal Monitoring, Patient Deterioration, NIH Stroke.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing care requiring specialized knowledge and judgment.
• Utilize high-level assessment skills to design and ensure multidisciplinary patient care.
• Supervise LPNs, CNAs, Techs, Unit Secretaries, and Clinical students.
• Monitor and adhere to safety responsibilities and initiatives.
• Identify scope of practice issues and prioritize patient care effectively.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and effective decision-making skills.
• Communicate effectively with patients and team members.
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
