About the position

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing direct comprehensive nursing care to patients from admission to discharge. This role involves planning, assessing, intervening, and evaluating patient care with a focus on outcomes. The nurse will communicate with patients, families, and the healthcare team, ensuring that care is documented and adheres to professional standards. Critical thinking and evidence-based practices are essential for prioritizing care based on patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients from admission to discharge.
• Plan, assess, intervene, and evaluate patient care with an outcome-focused approach.
• Document care provided, outcomes, and evaluations of care.
• Communicate ongoing with physicians and other departments in the hospital.
• Apply evidence-based practices and professional standards to bedside caregiving.
• Prioritize care based on changing assessments and patient needs.

Requirements

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ADN) degree from an accredited institution.
• Current unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Kentucky.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred upon hire and required within 6 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred upon hire and required within 90 days of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred upon hire and required within 6 months of hire.
• Must obtain Crisis Prevention certification within 6 months of hire.

Nice-to-haves

• Recent experience in specialty preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited institution.
