About the position
The RN - PACU position at Memorial Hermann Health System in Sugar Land involves providing high-quality nursing care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The role requires collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective patient care, particularly for those recovering from surgery. Responsibilities
- Deliver safe and appropriate care to patients according to nursing skills inventory and patient needs.
- Coordinate the planning for nursing care delivery with an interdisciplinary team.
- Collaborate with and direct the healthcare team to achieve positive patient outcomes.
- Coordinate treatment plans and develop/implement discharge and transfer plans.
- Participate in ongoing evaluation of programs and process improvements for client-centered outcomes.
- Consider diverse patient needs throughout the continuum of care to optimize the patient experience.
- Adhere to all regulatory and Texas Board of Nursing standards.
- Ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors while managing resources effectively.
- Promote individual professional growth and development through continuing education and skills competency.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; Bachelor's of Nursing preferred.
- Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing.
- Certified in Basic Life Support.
- Previous PACU experience, preferably in a Level 1 Trauma Center, or several years of ICU experience at a Level 1 trauma center.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
