About the position

The RN PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) position involves providing care to patients recovering from surgery in Oklahoma City, OK. This role requires a registered nurse to monitor and support patients post-anesthesia, ensuring their safety and comfort while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The position is temporary and travel-based, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to an assigned group of patients
• Administer medications and monitor IV infusions and blood products
• Assist physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Document patient responses to treatments and changes in their condition
• Communicate with patients and their families about care plans, procedures, and discharge instructions
• Delegate tasks to support staff
• Monitor and interpret physiological data and intervene as necessary

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience
• Strong knowledge of professional nursing theory, techniques, and procedures
• Ability to organize and coordinate nursing services
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in responding to diverse cultural and language needs of patients

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a PACU or similar unit in a trauma center or large hospital setting
