About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) position in the Pediatric Cardiac Cath Lab at Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital is a full-time role focused on delivering high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients. The RN will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to provide safe and effective patient care, conduct nursing assessments, assist with exams and treatments, and maintain medical records. This role requires a commitment to professional growth and adherence to regulatory standards while ensuring a compassionate and personalized experience for patients and their families.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe and appropriate care to patients according to nursing skills inventory and patient needs.
• Coordinate nursing care delivery with an interdisciplinary team and make clinical decisions based on evidence and professional standards.
• Collaborate with and direct the healthcare team to achieve positive patient outcomes.
• Coordinate treatment plans and develop/implement discharge and transfer plans.
• Participate in ongoing evaluation of programs and process improvements for client-centered outcomes.
• Consider diverse patient needs throughout the continuum of care to optimize the patient experience.
• Adhere to regulatory and Texas Board of Nursing standards, ensuring safe care for patients, staff, and visitors.
• Promote professional growth by meeting continuing education and skills competency requirements, and serve as a mentor to less experienced staff.
• Model Memorial Hermann's service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized, and efficient experiences.

Requirements

• Current State of Texas RN license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; Bachelor's of Nursing preferred.
• Certified in Basic Life Support.
• Mid-level ICU experience.
• Laboratory experience.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
