About the position

The X-Ray Tech I is responsible for operating radiographic equipment to obtain diagnostic exams as per radiologist specifications. This role involves caring for patients across all age ranges and ensuring high-quality imaging while minimizing radiation exposure.

Responsibilities

  • Performs general radiography and positions patients for optimal diagnostic results.
  • Places protective lead shields on patients and sets correct technical exposure.
  • Handles clerical tasks such as retrieving previous films, filing, answering phones, relaying messages, completing encounter forms, and scheduling.
  • Educates patients and family members about the care being provided.
  • Conducts quality checks on equipment according to department procedures.
  • Produces high-quality radiographs and digital images with minimal radiation exposure.
  • Demonstrates problem-solving, conflict resolution, and positive communication through teamwork.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Science or equivalent post-secondary education required.
  • Graduate of an accredited diagnostic radiography program.
  • A.R.R.T. registered and current State license in radiography.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical internship and two years of post-educational experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Strong working knowledge of radiographic equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • CPR certification.
