About The Position

The Per Diem Registered Nurse - Infusion at UC San Diego Health is responsible for providing specialized nursing care in an outpatient infusion center. This role involves administering chemotherapy, biotherapy, and other infusion-related services, as well as caring for post Bone Marrow Transplant patients. The nurse will work autonomously, exercising independent judgment in a fast-paced environment, and is expected to respond to urgent medical emergencies while adhering to ANA Standards of Practice.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Current California RN license.
• BART or BLS certification at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within six months.
• ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certification with recent experience (within the last 6 months).
• Minimum one year of recent oncology infusion center or acute care oncology experience.

Nice To Haves

• BSN degree.
• Recent infusion center experience.
• BMT experience.
• Clinical Trials Infusion experience.
• OCN certification.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and clinical trials infusion services.
• Perform blood work, dressing changes, and injections.
• Care for post Bone Marrow Transplant patients.
• Respond to and handle urgent medical emergencies.
• Practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance.
