About the position

The Registered Nurse in Preprocedural Evaluation (PPE) at Mass General Brigham Medical Group is responsible for managing all aspects of nursing care for preoperative patients. This role emphasizes patient and family-centered care, requiring strong assessment and care coordination skills. The RN will utilize a patient-focused model to plan, implement, and evaluate care while collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure quality and cost-effective patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the standards of Patient Focused Model to manage care for all patients considering various factors.
  • Maintains competency in nursing practice and clinical skills, completing mandatory educational requirements.
  • Validates patient identification and reviews consent and procedure before assessments.
  • Assesses, diagnoses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for assigned patients.
  • Delegates appropriate nursing activities to unlicensed personnel based on patient stability and their training.
  • Collects and analyzes patient information, collaborating with healthcare team members to coordinate services.
  • Communicates with physicians regarding patient status and treatment plans.
  • Educates patients and family members on disease processes, medications, and discharge planning.
  • Assumes timely initiation and documentation of nursing care and treatment activities.
  • Consults with Clinical Nurse Specialist for complex patient care management.
  • Identifies barriers to care and seeks innovative opportunities to improve patient care.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of diverse populations and promotes cooperation among healthcare team members.

Requirements

  • Current NH RN licensure, BSN.
  • Maintain current BLS certification.
  • 5+ years of related clinical experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
