About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the A6 Cardiac IMC unit at CHRISTUS Health provides professional nursing care to ensure the comfort and well-being of patients. This role involves preparing equipment, assisting physicians during examinations, administering medications, and monitoring patient vital signs. The RN participates in planning and implementing patient care, offering leadership to support staff, and managing a variety of cardiac conditions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care for patients in the A6 Cardiac IMC unit.
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and treatments.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient vital signs.
• Observe and maintain records on patient care, condition, reaction, and progress.
• Participate as primary nurse, associate nurse, team member, or team leader in patient care planning and implementation.
• Direct and assist in carrying out safe aseptic techniques and procedures.
• Offer leadership and direction to support staff within the department.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Able to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
• One-year experience in nursing preferred.
• Current Texas State RN License.
• CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer date.
• EKG certification required within 90 days of hire/transfer date.
