About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Critical Care Unit (CCU) at Oklahoma Heart Hospital is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to critically ill patients. This role involves monitoring patients' hemodynamic status, performing comprehensive assessments, and administering critical medications. The RN will work collaboratively with physicians and other caregivers to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a supportive and advanced medical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the overall hemodynamic status of critically ill patients.
  • Perform head-to-toe assessments and assess all body systems, rhythms, and invasive lines.
  • Administer, titrate, and monitor critically ill patients on critical medications.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and surgeons regarding patient status changes.
  • Operate and maintain advanced medical equipment such as ventilators and defibrillators.
  • Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Work within a pod system to ensure adequate nurse-to-patient ratios.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing program.
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in Oklahoma.
  • Current BLS certification required at the time of hire.
  • ACLS certification within 18 months of hire.
  • Minimum of one year of continuous experience in telemetry or related cardiac clinical setting preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a critical care environment.
  • Additional certifications in cardiac care.
