About the position

The Nurse position involves providing both routine and complex care in a clinical setting, demonstrating independence and awareness of various aspects of patient care. The role requires the ability to manage clinical situations effectively, make appropriate assignments, and delegate tasks to other care providers. The Nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, and evaluate care for assigned patients, addressing their psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Administer medications and treatments according to protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to assess the physical, psychosocial, social, cultural, spiritual, and developmental needs of patients and families.
• Communicate findings to appropriate healthcare team members and develop a specific plan of care.
• Implement patient care and therapeutic procedures, monitoring and documenting progression of treatment and teaching goals.
• Evaluate care and treatment provided to patients and their responses.
• Plan, direct, and evaluate overall nursing care and functions in a nursing unit during assigned shifts.
• Incorporate patient safety practices to promote a safe environment and positive patient outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred)
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty (preferred)
• BLS certification required
• RN License in state of employment or compact
