About the position

The Director, Clinical Operations at Grane Home Health & Hospice is responsible for overseeing the overall direction of hospice clinical services. This role involves establishing, implementing, and evaluating goals and objectives that align with quality standards and the organization's philosophy. The Director plays a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality hospice care and managing clinical teams effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and oversees all direct and indirect patient services provided by clinical organization personnel
  • Provides guidance and counseling to coordinators and Clinical Supervisors to improve hospice care services
  • Assists Clinical Supervisors in managing clinical teams and planning
  • Acts as the Executive Director/Administrator in their absence
  • Helps in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient and family/caregiver care
  • Assists in the preparation and administration of the organization's budget
  • Interprets operational indicators to detect census changes and impacts on staffing levels
  • Evaluates performance of Clinical Supervisors
  • Assists Clinical Supervisors in evaluating clinician performance
  • Hires, evaluates, and terminates organization personnel
  • Conducts annual evaluations on clinicians
  • Oversees maintenance of patient clinical records and reports
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal laws regarding clinical records
  • Maintains adequate inventory supplies and equipment for patient services
  • Develops and evaluates the orientation program for new personnel
  • Plans and implements in-service and continuing education programs
  • Assists in evaluating organization performance via performance improvement programs
  • Ensures quality and safe delivery of hospice services
  • Develops, recommends, and administers organization policies and procedures
  • Maintains compliance with licensure and certification laws and CHAP standards
  • Stays informed about changes in nursing and hospice care
  • Promotes hospice referrals in the health care community
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director/Administrator

Requirements

  • Registered nurse with current licensure to practice professional nursing in the State
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited program preferred
  • Three years of management experience preferred
  • Experience in a hospice or related health care organization
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct professional and administrative personnel
  • Ability to market and deal tactfully with customers and the community
  • Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of business management, governmental regulations, and CHAP standards
