About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intermediate Unit (IU) at Oklahoma Heart Hospital is responsible for monitoring and providing care to moderately complex patients, particularly those who are post-surgical and require intensive monitoring. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, collaboration with physicians, and maintaining a safe and effective environment for patient recovery. The RN will work in a pod system, ensuring a low nurse-to-patient ratio to facilitate high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the overall hemodynamic status of moderately complex patients.
• Perform head-to-toe assessments and assess all body systems, rhythms, and invasive lines, tubes, and drains.
• Administer, titrate, and monitor patients on moderately critical medications.
• Communicate effectively with physicians and surgeons regarding patient status changes.
• Stay current with BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Work collaboratively with the nursing team and other caregivers.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing program.
• Registered Nurse with current Oklahoma licensure.
• Current BLS certification required at the time of hire.
• ACLS certification within 18 months of hire.
• Minimum of one (1) year of continuous experience in telemetry or related cardiac clinical setting preferred.
