About the position

The Staff Development Coordinator at Cedars Healthcare Center is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing orientation and in-service education for facility employees. This role also includes responsibilities as the Infection Prevention/Control Coordinator, focusing on designing systems to prevent and monitor infections among residents and staff. The position aims to ensure high-quality care and compliance with regulatory guidelines in a skilled nursing community.

Responsibilities

  • Assess learning needs and design in-service and continuing education programs based on quality assurance data to meet needs and regulatory guidelines.
  • Develop, implement, communicate, and evaluate an annual training plan.
  • Create specific teaching plans and programs to cover training needs for all roles on a regular basis.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to ensure quality care is maintained to the highest standard and that all facility policies and procedures are followed by every staff member.
  • Be on call as needed.

Requirements

  • Must hold a current unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Colorado.
  • Experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing preferred but not required.
  • Background/training in infection control is preferred.
  • Current CPR certificate desired.
