About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) position at Adventist Health involves providing comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population across various age groups. Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process to assess patients and design individualized care plans.
  • Collaborates with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care delivery.
  • Provides patient and family education throughout all phases of care.
  • Responds to emergency situations and follows established protocols.
  • Documents assessments, interventions, and care provided to patients.
  • Delegates tasks to nursing staff based on their competencies and legal scope of practice.
  • Maintains effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
  • Ensures continuity of care by processing physician's orders promptly.
  • Acts as a patient advocate, ensuring rights are preserved.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice required.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Experience in an acute care facility preferred.
  • Dysrhythmia recognition course or demonstrated competency and ACLS required for telemetry patients.
  • Completion of Critical Care Course within 1 year of hire for ICU required.
  • Demonstrated competency in IV Sedation within 6 months required.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation within 6 months of hire for Nursery/NICU and Labor and Delivery required.
  • Advanced Fetal Monitoring within 1 year of hire for L&D required.

Nice-to-haves

  • PALS certification within 1 year of hire for PACU/SDS preferred.
  • Chemotherapy Certification for Cancer Center preferred.
  • OCN Certification within 2 years of hire preferred.
  • PICC certification preferred.
