About the position

The Staff Nurse (RN) at Masonicare Health Center is responsible for providing professional nursing care to assigned patients under the direction of the Clinical Nurse Manager. This role includes managing the nursing unit, ensuring the delivery of care, and practicing evidence-based nursing. The position requires effective communication and collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to meet the needs of residents.

Responsibilities

• Assumes professional responsibility and accountability for a group of residents/patients, including medication/treatment administration, teaching, and supervision of nursing staff.
• Performs ongoing and systematic assessments to establish a comprehensive interdisciplinary care plan.
• Communicates and collaborates effectively with residents/patients, families, and colleagues to ensure appropriate treatment.
• Documents accurate and comprehensive information in a timely manner as required by regulations and facility policies.
• Supervises the care provided by CNAs and LPNs, ensuring adherence to the care plan and policies.
• Participates in educational programs, inservices, meetings, and workshops to enhance professional skills.
• Participates in quality improvement activities as directed and follows standards of the Diligent Minimal Lift Program.
• Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

• Associates Degree/Diploma Program, Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• 1-2 years nursing experience in a clinical setting preferred; new graduates may be considered.
• Current RN license in the State of Connecticut.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous LPN or CNA experience is a plus.
