About the position

Nemours is seeking an experienced pediatric ICU Nurse for our ICU Staffing Resource Pool. This position is designed for skilled nurses who are capable of floating to various critical care units, including the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU), based on the hospital's needs. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of pediatric critical care nursing experience, with a preference for those who have CICU experience. Flexibility is essential, as nurses will be required to work in different units during their shifts, adapting to the dynamic environment of pediatric critical care. This role is crucial in ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of care across various intensive care settings.

Responsibilities

• Float to PICU, NICU, and CICU as needed based on hospital requirements.
• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, responding to changes in status promptly.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Educate patients and families about care plans and health management.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.

Requirements

• Graduates of an accredited school of nursing.
• BSN preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of pediatric critical care nursing experience.
• CICU experience preferred.
• Must be eligible for or have current Delaware licensure.
• Required certification: American Heart Association BLS.
