About the position

The RN Supervisor for Long-Term Care (LTC) is responsible for overseeing the operation of nursing units under the direction of the Director of Nursing. This role involves providing clinical supervision to nursing staff, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures, and fostering a collaborative environment among medical staff and ancillary services.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operation of nursing units in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Provide clinical supervision to employees assigned to various nursing units.
  • Collaborate effectively with medical staff, department managers, and ancillary services.
  • Manage self professionally in stressful situations and facilitate clinical management.
  • Work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
  • Enhance teamwork through effective role modeling.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Registered Professional Nursing.
  • Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse licensure.
  • BLS certification required through the RQI system during clinical orientation.
  • CPI certification obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Minimum of one year of nursing experience, preferably in LTC with supervisory experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a nursing setting.
