About the position

The Supervisor, Nursing Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for overseeing nursing and unit-based personnel to ensure a safe and caring environment for patients, families, and staff. This role involves managing day-to-day operations, assisting in policy development, and implementing quality improvement initiatives. The Supervisor also provides nursing care as needed and works in various hospital departments with 24/7 staffing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise assigned nursing and unit-based personnel to ensure safe and effective patient care.
• Oversee day-to-day operations and productivity of the nursing unit.
• Assist the Nursing Manager in planning, developing, and implementing policies and procedures.
• Evaluate and monitor budgets and resource allocation.
• Coordinate patient care through collaboration with inter-professional team members.
• Facilitate quality and performance improvement initiatives among nursing staff.
• Advocate for nursing staff and represent their concerns to management.
• Monitor the learning needs of staff and assist in educational program development.
• Participate in departmental and organizational programs and committees.
• Assume accountability for daily operations in the absence of the Nursing Manager.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Nursing.
• 2 years of nursing experience.
• Registered Nurse (RN) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within 30 days of hire.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a supervisory role within a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of nursing-sensitive indicators and quality improvement processes.
• Familiarity with electronic medical documentation systems.
