About the position

The RN Supervisor Weekends at Tuscany Village Nursing Center is responsible for overseeing charge nurses and caregivers, ensuring the effective functioning of clinical systems and programs, and providing quality healthcare to residents. This role is crucial in creating a positive resident experience and involves supervising nursing practices, evaluating staffing needs, and maintaining high standards of care in a long-term and rehabilitative care setting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise charge nurses and other caregivers.
• Ensure clinical systems and programs are functioning as intended.
• Oversee the care of the facility's residents.
• Maintain nursing service objectives, goals, and standards consistent with licensure requirements.
• Evaluate staffing patterns needed to meet residents' needs in conjunction with the Director of Nursing.
• Administer medication and treatments as prescribed.
• Observe patients, chart, and report changes in conditions.
• Answer patients' calls and determine how to assist them.
• Provide basic patient care or treatments.
• Work as part of a healthcare team to assess patient needs and implement interventions.
• Receive, transcribe, and implement physician's orders.
• Implement and evaluate care plans.
• Identify and secure equipment and supplies.
• Direct and oversee subordinate staff.
• Participate in duty assignments and organize job tasks.
• Evaluate staff performance and institute appropriate actions for discipline or training.
• Monitor infection control compliance.
• Investigate and document accidents and incidents.

Requirements

• Current, valid licensure as a RN in Texas is required.
• Experience in long-term healthcare preferred.
• Management/Supervisory experience required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills needed.
