About the position
Mercy is seeking dedicated Registered Nurses for the Surgical 3B unit, a fast-paced medical surgical telemetry floor focusing on pre- and post-surgical care for patients undergoing GI, Urology, and ENT surgeries. The unit features a nurse to patient ratio of 1-6, providing an excellent opportunity for nurses to enhance their critical nursing skills in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to pre- and post-surgical patients.
- Conduct head to toe assessments and telemetry monitoring.
- Administer IV insertions and manage NG tubes.
- Care for chest tubes, tracheostomies, and ostomies.
- Perform wound care and manage drains.
Requirements
- Graduate of a state approved professional nurse program.
- Current RN licensure with Missouri State Board of Nursing or a temporary work permit.
- Must possess a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card or complete a course within the probation period.
