About the position
As a Telehealth Registered Nurse (RN) at Baylor Scott & White Health, you will oversee patient care provided by the healthcare team, utilizing a professional practice model. Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed clinical assessments of patients.
- Prioritize patient and family needs in care planning.
- Create, implement, and evaluate care plans based on patient assessments.
- Adjust care plans to achieve desired outcomes.
- Build therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
- Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members on healthcare choices.
- Assess and document learning needs of patients regularly.
- Collaborate with colleagues and community to develop care plans.
- Delegate tasks carefully and follow up on their completion.
- Utilize problem-solving strategies with patients, families, and staff.
- Recognize limitations and prioritize safety and effectiveness in patient care.
- Contribute to the development of peers and demonstrate community service commitment.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current and valid nursing license.
- BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of starting.
- Deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards and procedures.
- Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and common medications.
- Respect for medical ethics and patient privacy rights.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Positive social skills for diverse interactions.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical documentation.
