About the position

The RN - Telemetry position at Amergis Healthcare Staffing involves providing specialized nursing care to telemetry patients. The role requires critical thinking and clinical judgment to effectively assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while ensuring adherence to nursing standards. The RN will be responsible for monitoring patients' vital signs, administering medications, and educating patients and their families about cardiac health.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care on telemetry unit.
  • Performs focused interviews to identify specific patient needs.
  • Assesses signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient's condition.
  • Monitors EKG output and keeps doctors informed of any changes.
  • Records vital signs, including oxygen levels, blood pressure, and breathing patterns.
  • Monitors patient progress and updates patient medical records as needed.
  • Responds to patients experiencing cardiac pain.
  • Performs various diagnostic tests and manages/administers medication.
  • Educates patients on cardiac health and communicates with patient's family when applicable.
  • Documents the patient's plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventions.
  • Identifies and prioritizes actions based upon patient care requirements.
  • Provides a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic patient environment.
  • Revises the plan of care according to evaluation and changes in medical plan of care.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse license for the state in which the nurse practices.
  • One year experience in Telemetry.
  • Current CPR certification if applicable.
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in the English language required.
  • Computer proficiency required.
