About the position
This temporary Registered Nurse (RN) position at Highlands Medical Center involves providing patient care in surgical services for a 13-week assignment, with the possibility of renewal for an additional 13 weeks. The RN will assess patient needs, plan and delegate care, and evaluate patient responses to treatment. The role requires full-time hours with a minimum of 48 hours per week, including rotating weekends, and offers opportunities for overtime. The position is not eligible for lump sum extra shift incentives but does qualify for shift differentials.
Responsibilities
- Identify patient needs and priorities for care through assessment.
- Plan and delegate care based on patient needs.
- Evaluate the patient's response to care and progress toward expected outcomes.
- Accountable for outcomes of patient care delivered during the assigned shift.
Requirements
- Graduate of state board School of Nursing with current Alabama or multi-state licensure.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Critical Care and/or Emergency Care strongly preferred.
- BLS certification required before the conclusion of the orientation period.
- ACLS certification required if applicable to specific unit.
Nice-to-haves
- Flexibility to work in Med-Surg Units.
- Minimum of 1 year of service in current position for internal candidates.
