About the position
The RN Unit Manager at White Oaks Rehabilitation & Nursing Center is responsible for overseeing the nursing unit, ensuring high-quality care for residents while managing both licensed and non-licensed staff. This role involves administrative duties, quality assurance, and coordination of nursing services, all while fostering a compassionate environment for both residents and staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, and charting as necessary.
- Supervise licensed and non-licensed staff, including counseling, disciplinary actions, evaluations, and in-service training.
- Maintain an ongoing quality assurance program for the nursing unit.
- Develop methods for coordination of nursing services with other resident services to ensure continuity of care.
- Interact tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and government agencies.
Requirements
- Must have a current RN or LPN license in New York State.
- 2 years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related health care facility preferred.
- Completion of post-secondary education and ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions.
- Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance as required.
- Must be able to adjust to a flexible schedule including evenings, nights, and weekend work hours.
