About the position

The RN Unit Manager at Brookdale Rosehill is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the nursing unit, ensuring high-quality care for residents while adhering to community standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves managing clinical services, developing comprehensive care plans, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to enhance resident care and safety. The position also includes administrative responsibilities such as staff evaluations and maintaining compliance with health regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of the identified unit.
  • Ensure adherence to community standards and maintain high-quality care.
  • Assist the Director of Clinical Services in managing clinical operations.
  • Assess resident needs and implement comprehensive care plans.
  • Consult with residents' physicians in planning care.
  • Review and update care plans periodically with the Charge Nurse.
  • Develop discharge plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members.
  • Conduct resident rounds to assess nursing care and resident conditions.
  • Assist Charge Nurse with resident care needs and documentation audits.
  • Act as a liaison between residents, families, physicians, and staff.
  • Participate in developing and maintaining clinical policies and procedures.
  • Make recommendations to the Director of Clinical Services regarding nursing operations.
  • Participate in associate evaluations and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Ensure proper transition of nursing reports during shift changes.
  • Complete follow-up investigations related to medication errors and provide education as needed.
  • Report occupational exposure to hazardous materials according to policy.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in assigned work areas.
  • Monitor supplies and place orders as necessary.
  • Ensure medication rooms and carts are secured according to regulations.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in continuing education programs.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing school.
  • Minimum of one to three years of experience in nursing service administration.
  • One year of management experience preferred.
  • Current RN state nursing certification in good standing.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Additional education or experience in rehabilitative or geriatric nursing.
