About the position

The RN Unit Manager at Brookdale Senior Living is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a designated unit, ensuring high-quality care for residents in compliance with federal and state regulations. This role involves collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans, conducting resident assessments, and maintaining a safe and sanitary environment. The position also includes managing staff evaluations and participating in policy development, making it essential for maintaining the overall health and wellness of residents.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of the identified unit, ensuring adherence to community standards and quality care.
  • Assist the Director of Clinical Services in managing clinical services operations.
  • Assess resident needs and develop comprehensive care plans in consultation with physicians.
  • Conduct resident rounds to supervise nursing care and ensure a safe environment.
  • Participate in developing and maintaining policies and procedures for clinical services operations.
  • Participate in associate evaluations and disciplinary actions as required.
  • Ensure proper transition of nursing reports during shift changes.
  • Complete follow-up investigations related to medication errors and provide necessary education.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of assigned work areas and monitor supplies.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in continuing education programs.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing school.
  • 1-3 years of experience in nursing service administration, with at least 1 year in management preferred.
  • Current RN state nursing certification in good standing.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications.

Nice-to-haves
