Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process to care for patients.
  • Assesses, organizes, and completes patient care considering patient age, cultural, and psychosocial factors.
  • Documents steps of the nursing process and utilizes proper medical terminology.
  • Addresses problems and monitors progress toward goals.
  • Facilitates patient discharge through timely referrals and patient education resources.
  • Collaborates with other disciplines as appropriate.
  • Supports unit/hospital goals through participation in educational activities and variance reports.
  • Prevents patient problems through telemedicine technology and proactive surveillance of physiological trends.
  • Virtually evaluates patients and educates them and their families on disease processes and procedures.
  • Performs the roles of clinician, educator, consultant, and navigator during virtual appointments.
  • Coaches and mentors floor nurses regarding patient care.
  • Maintains knowledge of rapidly changing technology and equipment used in patient care.

Requirements

  • Valid multi-state or State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse License.
  • Minimum 5 years of registered nurse experience in an acute care setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to use information technology for communication and decision-making.
  • Working knowledge of general disease state management processes and clinical pathways.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively and efficiently.
  • Detail-oriented in examining clinical and numerical data.
  • Comfortable with tele/virtual monitoring equipment.
  • High degree of professional competence and autonomy.
