About the position

The RN Weekend Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the provision of quality care to residents in a skilled nursing facility. This role involves overseeing nursing staff, administering medications, and maintaining communication with residents and their families regarding care plans and changes in condition. The position requires a commitment to promoting the physical, mental, and psychological well-being of each resident.

Responsibilities

  • Observe, assess, document, and report resident condition/changes during rounds.
  • Ensure implementation of care plans as directed.
  • Administer medications as prescribed.
  • Conduct rounds with physicians and record visits in clinical records.
  • Perform narcotic reconciliation with incoming and outgoing shifts.
  • Identify significant changes in resident conditions and take necessary actions per facility policies.
  • Oversee and monitor aides in their duties.
  • Initiate and complete Incident and Accident Reports as per facility policy.
  • Discharge residents according to facility policy.
  • Complete Nursing Assessment for Physician Calls prior to contacting physicians about changes in resident conditions.
  • Communicate with residents' points of contact regarding status updates or changes in condition.
  • Complete special projects or functions as assigned by the Director of Nurses or Administrator.

Requirements

  • Completed RN program at an accredited vocational school, college, or university.
  • Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Texas in good standing.
  • Experience working in a skilled nursing facility is preferred.
