About the position

The RN, Women's Services position at Valley View Medical Center involves providing direct patient care to women during labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn stages. The role emphasizes the nursing process, patient advocacy, and collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care for patients and their families.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable standards.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care given and monitors patient conditions.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene and nutrition.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care and support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patients and provides appropriate education.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
• Basic Fetal Monitoring certification within 30 days of hire.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification at time of hire.
• Critical thinking skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Nice-to-haves
