About the position
The Registered Nurse position at Unison Health in Bowling Green, OH, is a full-time role focused on providing comprehensive care to clients in outpatient, community, and residential treatment settings. The nurse will perform physical and mental health assessments, administer medications, and deliver direct care services, primarily supporting Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) and outpatient clients. This role requires collaboration with various healthcare professionals and effective communication with clients experiencing mental illness.
Responsibilities
- Maintain organization of the Bowling Green Outpatient Medication Room, including collaborating with pharmacy to order medications and manage sample medications.
- Participate in ACT team meetings and provide care to assigned ACT clients in various settings, both in the office and in the community.
- Provide crisis intervention and assess each patient's mental and physical health, identifying needs and interventions to develop a nursing care plan.
- Collaborate with other disciplines on the crisis staff, including providers, therapists, technicians, and peers.
- Provide emergency first aid to clients.
- Act as a liaison between the physician and other caregivers.
- Obtain Wood County Health Officer status within 60 days of hire and maintain it throughout employment.
Requirements
- Current RN license from the State of Ohio.
- Associate degree in nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Previous psychiatric experience preferred.
- Certification as a psychiatric nurse preferred.
- Demonstrated comfort in interacting with individuals with mental illness.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Excellent customer service skills.
