About the position

The Registered Nurse - Wound Care at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is responsible for providing direct patient care and coordinating the multidisciplinary treatment team for patients with difficult or chronic wounds. This role emphasizes maintaining high standards of patient care, adhering to regulatory standards, and ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders involved in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for individuals with difficult or chronic wounds.
• Coordinate the efforts of the multidisciplinary treatment team for patient care.
• Administer, supervise, and coordinate the nursing process in the provision of care.
• Maintain and improve patient outcomes through effective care practices.
• Document detailed wound assessments and maintain accurate records.
• Educate patients on wound care and treatment plans, ensuring clarity to minimize follow-up inquiries.
• Communicate effectively with external partners involved in patient care.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree or Graduate of a Technical School in nursing.
• Kansas Registered Nurse License.
• BCLS certification obtained through the American Heart Association.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in nursing.
• 1 to 2 years of position-related experience.
• Additional certifications/registrations preferred by specific clinical areas.
