About the position
The Registered Nurse (RN) at Samaritan Albany General Hospital is responsible for providing safe, age-appropriate patient care in the Medical Surgical unit, which specializes in the care of acutely ill adults and those requiring surgery. The RN will utilize the nursing process to deliver both direct and indirect patient care while adhering to the standards set by the Oregon State Board of Nursing. This role requires effective communication, adaptability, and strong time management skills to thrive in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to provide safe and effective patient care.
- Deliver direct and indirect care to patients in the Medical Surgical unit.
- Communicate effectively with team members and patients regarding care and treatment.
- Adapt care strategies based on the diverse needs of patients from pediatrics to geriatrics.
- Organize and prioritize work to meet required time frames and follow up on pending issues.
Requirements
- Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required.
- Healthcare Provider Level BLS certification required.
- Mid-level Surgery Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification preferred.
- Experience in medical-surgical nursing is preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Specialty certification in Medical Surgical Nursing is encouraged and supported.
