About the position

The RN position at Cascade Terrace involves assisting the Director of Nursing Services in managing daily nursing activities in a long-term care facility. The role includes administrative functions, policy development, compliance monitoring, and quality assurance to ensure high standards of care for residents.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Nursing Services in directing daily nursing activities.
  • Participate in developing, maintaining, and updating nursing service policies and procedures.
  • Ensure reference materials at nurses' stations are current.
  • Recommend materials to assist nursing service in meeting residents' needs.
  • Ensure the Nursing Service Procedures Manual is current and reflects day-to-day procedures.
  • Ensure compliance of nursing personnel with established procedures.
  • Make reports and recommendations to the Director regarding nursing operations.
  • Review department policies and make recommendations for revisions.
  • Coordinate nursing services with other resident services for continuity of care.
  • Ensure compliance of nursing personnel with their job descriptions.
  • Participate in the quality assurance program for nursing services.
  • Assist in facility surveys by government agencies as requested.
  • Review and update residents' discharge plans as required.
  • Meet with nursing staff to plan department services and activities.
  • Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
  • Complete accident/incident reports as necessary.
  • Interpret department policies to personnel, residents, and visitors.
  • Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms and charting.

Requirements

  • Current RN license in the state of Oregon.
  • Experience in long-term care or similar healthcare settings.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with nursing staff and other departments.
