About the position

The Road & Bridge Program Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and directing complex projects and services related to the County's Road & Bridge Program. This includes overseeing the Maintenance, Construction, Landscape, and Heavy Equipment Fleet divisions. The role involves supervising professional, technical, and clerical staff, ensuring effective management of transportation infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement complex projects and services for the Road & Bridge Program.
• Direct the Maintenance, Construction, Landscape, and Heavy Equipment Fleet divisions.
• Supervise professional, technical, and clerical staff involved in the program.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in all projects.
• Respond to emergency situations and be available for 24-hour calls as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
• Nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience in transportation infrastructure maintenance and construction.
• Five (5) years in a supervisory and/or managerial role.
• Valid Florida Driver's license and ability to maintain it during employment.
• FDOT Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)/Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) certification within nine (9) months of employment.
• FEMA National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) certification training within twelve (12) months of employment.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Public Administration, Organizational Management, or Organizational Leadership.
• Local government experience.
