About the position

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Engineer specializing in Roadway Design to join their Ohio Transportation Business Unit. The role involves working in a dynamic and collaborative environment, focusing on roadway design for ODOT and Local Public Agency clients. The position offers opportunities for professional growth and development, with options for remote or hybrid work. The successful candidate will also be eligible for a sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct roadway design for ODOT and Local Public Agency (LPA) clients.
• Create and review project design calculations, quantity takeoffs, specifications, plans, and contract documents.
• Assign responsibilities within the Transportation Team.
• Manage project schedules and budgets.
• Apply ODOT design manual and AASHTO principles to highway design.
• Utilize roadway design CADD software.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group as needed.
• Travel to client meetings and site visits, with possible overnight stays.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (required).
• Professional Engineer license (required).
• Driver's License (required).
• 18 years of related experience (required).
• Master's degree (preferred).
