About the position
The General Transportation Tech I or II position at TxDOT's Bryan District focuses on roadway maintenance and repair activities. Responsibilities
- Perform roadway maintenance and repair tasks.
- Operate light and heavy equipment for maintenance activities.
- Conduct preventive and minor maintenance on equipment.
- Assist in traffic control and public assistance during emergencies.
- Identify, repair, and install traffic signs and delineators.
- Maintain highways and rights-of-way, including guard rails and highway markers.
- Drive to pick up litter and debris from roadways.
- Complete required reports including time-keeping and equipment forms.
- Assist local law enforcement at accident sites.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license is required.
- For General Transportation Tech II: 1 year of relevant experience in transportation engineering support or related work.
- Commercial Class 'A' Driver's License must be obtained within 120 days of employment.
Nice-to-haves
