About the position

As a Roadway Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our ongoing heavy civil construction projects in the Central Florida area. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders. You will be responsible for overseeing projects from conception to completion, ensuring that they are executed within budget and on schedule. Your work will involve conducting site assessments, feasibility studies, and cost estimations to determine the viability of projects. You will also assist in preparing and reviewing project proposals, contracts, and specifications, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and comprehensive. In this role, you will coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to meet project requirements while adhering to safety regulations and quality standards. You will provide technical support to the construction team, addressing any issues that arise during the project lifecycle. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing and maintaining project documentation, including reports, schedules, and progress updates. Effective communication with project stakeholders is essential, as you will need to convey project status, milestones, and potential risks. You will also manage and track project budgets, expenses, and resource allocation, participating in regular project meetings to provide input on decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the project management team to plan, organize, and oversee heavy civil construction projects from conception to completion.
• Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and cost estimation to determine project viability.
• Assist in the preparation and review of project proposals, contracts, and specifications.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met within budget and schedule constraints.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
• Provide technical support to the construction team, addressing any issues or challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.
• Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including reports, schedules, and progress updates.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders to communicate project status, milestones, and potential risks.
• Manage and track project budgets, expenses, and resource allocation.
• Participate in regular project meetings and provide input on decision-making processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Project Engineer in heavy civil construction projects.
• Knowledge of construction management software and proficiency in project scheduling tools.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and construction techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse project teams.
• Ability to analyze problems and make decisions independently.
• Familiarity with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.
