About the position

As a Roadway Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our ongoing heavy civil construction projects in the Central Florida area. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders. You will be responsible for overseeing projects from conception to completion, ensuring that they are executed within budget and on schedule while adhering to safety and quality standards. Your work will involve conducting site assessments, feasibility studies, and cost estimations to determine the viability of projects. You will also assist in preparing and reviewing project proposals, contracts, and specifications, ensuring that all project requirements are met. In this role, you will coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers, facilitating communication and collaboration among all parties involved. Monitoring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards will be a key aspect of your responsibilities, as will providing technical support to the construction team to address any challenges that arise during the project lifecycle. You will be tasked with preparing and maintaining accurate project documentation, including reports, schedules, and progress updates, and will regularly communicate project status, milestones, and potential risks to stakeholders. Your ability to manage and track project budgets, expenses, and resource allocation will be essential to the success of the projects you oversee. Participation in regular project meetings and providing input on decision-making processes will also be part of your responsibilities, ensuring that you contribute to the overall success of the project and the company.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the project management team to plan, organize, and oversee heavy civil construction projects from conception to completion.
  • Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and cost estimation to determine project viability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Project Engineer in heavy civil construction projects.
  • Knowledge of construction management software and proficiency in project scheduling tools.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and construction techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse project teams.
  • Ability to analyze problems and make decisions independently.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.
