About the position

The Roadway Project Manager at Jacobs is responsible for leading transportation design projects, managing delivery teams, and building client relationships in Tennessee. This role involves overseeing a variety of projects, from sidewalks and bikeways to large-scale infrastructure, utilizing expertise in roadway design, drainage, and sitework layout. Responsibilities

  • Manage transportation design projects from inception to completion.
  • Lead delivery teams and interface directly with clients.
  • Oversee the design and plan development of roadway projects, including new construction and rehabilitation.
  • Utilize transportation design software such as MicroStation and Open Roads Designer.
  • Ensure compliance with AASHTO design guidelines in project execution.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders in the transportation sector.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience with DOTs and local government projects.
  • Previous experience as a project manager for transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
  • Demonstrated experience in roadway design projects, including design and plan development.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation and Open Roads Designer.
  • Strong understanding of AASHTO design guidelines.
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical, and time management skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in North Carolina, Tennessee, or Georgia (or ability to attain within 6 months).
  • Experience with transportation projects and prior DOT experience in Tennessee.
